Packages and pricing
What a bathroom renovation costs in the Waikato
Three fixed price packages, built around the three ways a Waikato bathroom usually gets renovated. Pick the one closest to what you are after, then we measure up and confirm the exact number in writing before anyone picks up a tool. Whichever you choose, it runs in weeks not months, because bathrooms are all we do.

Prices are indicative starting points, not final quotes. The figures on this page reflect typical scope at each level. Your exact price is confirmed after a free in-home measure up and is fixed in writing before work begins.

Honest pricing
What actually makes the price move
Every bathroom renovation quote is built from the same handful of variables. Here is what they are, so you can see where your own job is likely to sit before you ever ring us.
Moving the layout
Keeping the toilet, shower and vanity where they already are is the cheapest way to renovate. Move the shower to the other wall, merge a separate toilet, or take out a tub, and you are into new drainage and new waterproofing runs, which is the single biggest jump between The Refresh and The Renovation.
How high the tiles go
Tiling to the height of the shower only is the standard inclusion. Full height tiling floor to ceiling on every wall looks better and is easier to keep clean, but it is a lot more tile, a lot more cutting, and more labour. It is priced as an option on The Renovation and comes standard on The Premium.
Joinery and benchtops
A standard vanity unit is included in every package. A custom joinery run built to fit an awkward wall, or a stone benchtop instead of a laminate top, is where the invoice moves. This is one of the easiest places to save money without the room looking cheap.
What is behind the old walls
Waikato housing stock from the 1950s to the 1970s often has old galvanised or copper pipework, no wall lining behind the tiles, or timber that has taken on moisture over the years. We check what we can at the quote visit and price for the housing era, but if something is found once the wall comes off that genuinely could not have been seen beforehand, it is raised with you as a priced variation before we touch it. It is never a surprise on the final invoice.
Building consent
Replacing fixtures in the same position is usually exempt work. Moving or adding sanitary fixtures, altering drainage, or removing a wall that does structural work generally needs consent. We work out whether your job needs it at quote stage. If it does, we manage the council process, but the council's own fees are a pass-through cost, not part of our fixed price.
Read the fine print
What none of the packages include
A handful of costs sit outside every fixed price, mostly because they depend on things we cannot know until a wall comes off or a council file is opened.
- Council consent fees and levies, where consent is required
- Asbestos testing or removal, if it is found once we open up an older wall or floor
- Moving the bathroom to a different part of the house, or extending the building footprint
- Remediation of rot, borer or structural damage discovered once linings are removed
- Decorating, flooring or storage outside the bathroom itself
- Fittings and fixtures beyond the specification allowance in your package, if you choose to upgrade
Common questions
Cost questions, answered straight
The things people ask before they ring us about a price.
See how the process worksThey are indicative starting points, not the final number. Every job gets measured up in person before we put a fixed price in writing, because the exact figure depends on your bathroom's size, layout, age of the house and the finishes you choose. The number on your written quote is the number on your invoice, but that number comes after the quote visit, not before it.
